Right To Run | Social Impact Campaign

ON Running | Iraq
Director | Cinematographer | Editor - Commissioned
Forced to flee their home by the civil war in Syria, Taghreid and her family found themselves living in an Internal Displacement Camp (IDC) in Mosul, Iraq. As well as being physically displaced from her home, Taghreid found herself increasingly isolated by the lack of freedom afforded to young women in Iraq. Not everyone has the means or opportunity to enjoy the freedom of movement. That's where Right To Run begins its work.
Through Free to Run’s program she has found relief from this repression and prejudice by running with other girls her age - forging strong friendships that both motivate and bring happiness.
Turner collaborated with photographer Alexandra Rose Howland, directing, filming and editing a short documentary to showcase the social impact of Free to Run's program in northern Iraq.
